Second Story Meals – Vale provides dinner once a month for teens in crisis staying in the Second Story Emergency Shelter in Vienna. Volunteers are needed to cook and deliver (or order takeout and have it delivered) for 4-12 people on May 28. Please sign up here. The meal should include the main course and sides (beverage is provided by Second Story). Dessert is optional but much appreciated! You will need to call Second Story the day before for the exact number of meals needed, contact Jan Feeney at jrmfeeney@aol.com or 571-217-6172 for their unlisted number, or with any questions.

Grills Needed – The Youth Group is in search of a grill that could be used for cooking on June 1 for Yard Sale concessions. If you have one you are willing to lend, please let us know by emailing or talking to Miracle, valedcym@gmail.com.

Vale Memorial Day Ceremony – Vale United Methodist Church and our community are invited to the Scouts BSA Troops 1983B and 1983G Memorial Day Ceremony on Monday, 27 May to honor our Vale Church veterans. A cook-out will follow the ceremony. The ceremony will start at 2:50 as part of the National Moment of Remembrance. If you’re in town for the weekend we hope to see you on Memorial Day. Yard Sale – The Vale Yard Sale is coming up! On Saturday, June 1, come find bargains on clothes, toys, electronics, books, household items, kitchenware, upscale boutique items, and more! If you have been hoarding, or just want to spring clean, we will begin accepting donations starting on May 27. If you are interested in volunteering, either to help sort and price the items during the week or during the sale on Saturday, contact Bob Lacy at robertklacy@gmail.com

Lost and Found Clearing – Any items left in the lost and found by May 27 will be donated to the yard sale. Please check if you have misplaced any water bottles, glasses cases, gloves, etc.

Vale VBS – Vacation Bible School will take place July 30 – August 1 from 9:30-11:30 am. Please register to attend here, and invite your friends and neighbors! If you would like to serve and be part of the team providing spiritual growth for children, talk to Miracle or email her at valedcym@gmail.com

Grant Writer Wanted – Do you have experience writing grants? We have a few opportunities to apply for grants, and we would like to put our best effort forward! If you would like to help, please contact Pastor Jeff at pastor@valechurch.org

Youth Group – The next youth group meeting will be on May 26, 5-7 pm in the youth basement. Any youth currently in 6th through 12th grade is invited to join, and friends are welcome too! We will spend time in fellowship, study, worship and service over the course of our time together. If you have questions, contact Miracle at valedcym@gmail.com.

Preschool Registration – Vale UMC Preschool registration for Fall 2024 is now open to all families. Registration will open to new families on January 18, 2024. Please tell your friends, family and neighbors to come register! Sunday School Help Wanted – Are you interested in working with Vale’s children? We are always looking for volunteers who are willing to spend an hour on their Sunday mornings to help teach our Children’s Sunday School class. Materials and curriculum are provided.
