Prayer Shawl Ministry – Join us on Saturday, Sept 7 at 10:30 am in the Resource Room to knit and crochet for ministry! We will discuss items for the Christmas Tree Sales event, needed prayer shawls, and scarves and hats for Operation Gratitude. Youth Group – Youth from Vale & Community of Faith currently in 6th – 12th grades are invited to join us for fun and fellowship on 2nd and 4th weekends this fall! Our first meeting will be at Vale on September 8th from 5-7pm. Most meetings will happen from 5-7pm on Sunday evenings, however our schedule will vary some based on church events that the youth will support. See the full list of fall events here. Second Story Key Groups Event – Are you interested in learning more about Second Story and their emergency teen shelter? As one of their major supporters, all members of Vale UMC are invited to attend an informational breakfast on Sept 12 at 9:00 am at the Culmore Community Library, followed by a teen center site visit. Potluck Dinner – We are having our first Potluck dinner of the season on Sunday evening, September 15th from 5-7 p.m. This is a chance for us to gather for a meal and just enjoy the company of our wonderful church community. We have some activities planned that can help entertain our younger people (and perhaps some of the not so young!) Bring your appetite and your favorite dish to share for a fun evening!

New Sunday Bible Study – Starting Sunday, September 15, at 7 pm, Pastor Jeff will lead Everywhere Is Jerusalem: Experiencing the Holy Then and Now. This is a 6 week study that is part travelogue, part Bible study, as we journey on a spiritual journey to the places that are most important in our faith. Preschool Registration – Vale UMC Preschool registration for Fall 2024 is now open to all families. Please tell your friends, family and neighbors to come register! Sunday School Help Wanted – Are you interested in working with Vale’s children? We are always looking for volunteers who are willing to spend an hour on their Sunday mornings to help teach our Children’s Sunday School class. Materials and curriculum are provided.
